Our church community is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) -- "a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world."

The Disciples of Christ denomination has a long history in North America, going back to revival movements in Kentucky in the early 1800s.

The structure of our broader church allows for each local congregation to be self-governing and have their unique characteristics and expression. What brings us all together is a shared commitment to unity, inclusion, and the ritual of communion at a communion table open to all.

Our denomination does not have any tests of faith, dogmas, or creeds; we believe each person is called to study and read scripture for ourselves, striving to understand scripture in context. We witness to the hope of including all, even when we don't agree. As our denominational website says, "Our spiritual ancestors were fond of saying, 'unity, not uniformity.'"
